Phoenix TRACON is the primary IFR facility responsible for safely organizing the expeditious flow of traffic into and out of Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport as well as its surrounding satellite airports. These include Deer Valley Airport (DVT), Scottsdale Airport (SDL), Falcon Field Airport (FFZ), Mesa-Gateway Airport (IWA), Chandler Airport (CHD), and Glendale (GEU) and Goodyear (GYR) Airports when Luke Approach is closed. Phoenix Approach assumed airspace over Northern Arizona in 2014, providing services to Prescott Airport (PRC) and Flagstaff Airport (FLG). In addition, Phoenix TRACON provides IFR services into numerous uncontrolled airports, such as Sedona Airport (SEZ) and Stellar Airpark (P19) as well as providing VFR services on a workload permitting basis.
